DuoWala (“we”) operates from Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. This policy covers the DuoWala Android app, this website, and our API. You can reach us at support@duowala.in.
What we collect
- Your phone number. Sign-in is by phone. The one-time code is delivered through Google Firebase Phone Authentication, and we store only a hash of any code we issue ourselves — never the code in readable form.
- Your profile. Name and bio, if you add them.
- Listings you post. Address, locality, photos, videos, rent and the details you type in. Listings are public.
- Approximate location. Listing search uses a coarse location so we can show you what is nearby. Exact coordinates of a listing are shown only approximately until a contact is unlocked.
- Wallet and payment records. Top-ups, plan purchases, coupons and referral rewards. Card and UPI details are handled entirely by Razorpay — they never reach our servers and we never store them.
- Device push token. So we can notify you about messages and listing updates.
- Usage records. Which listings you viewed or saved, and messages you send through in-app chat.
Why we collect it
To run the service: to sign you in, show relevant listings, let owners and seekers reach each other, process payments, prevent abuse, and respond to reports. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
- Other users. Your listings are public. Your phone number is shown to another user only when they unlock your contact.
- Google Firebase — phone verification and push notifications.
- Razorpay — payment processing.
- Our hosting and storage providers — they store the data on our behalf and may not use it for anything else.
We also disclose data where the law requires it, or to investigate fraud or abuse of the service.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Payment and wallet records are kept longer where accounting or tax rules require it. One-time codes expire within minutes.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and delete your listings from the app at any time.
- Turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Ask us to delete your account and personal data by writing to support@duowala.in. We will confirm your identity through your registered phone number before acting.
Children
DuoWala is not intended for anyone under 18.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to people who need it. No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise — if a breach affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
